We are Fool's Theory, a company from Bielsko-Biała in Poland, creators of the game Seven: The Days Long Gone and The Thaumaturge! Right now, we're starting production on our own new project, something different from what Fool's Theory has done so far. It's an exciting opportunity to join us at the very start, help shape its direction, and have a real influence on what it will become. Sounds interesting? Get in touch with us! Responsibilities

  • Create stylized 3D assets (models, textures, and materials) including architecture, environments, foliage, and props, and finalize the visual quality of game levels.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to create and refine tools, techniques, and pipelines.
  • Optimize assets for the best balance between visual quality and performance.
  • Create level art in Unreal Engine.
  • Work closely with the Level Design team to ensure the "gameplay first" principle is upheld while maintaining high-quality visuals.
  • Use Unreal Engine Procedural Content Generation (PCG) tools to populate levels with 3D assets.
  • Use Unreal Engine Day Sequence to set up lighting and manage post-processing.

Requirements

  • A portfolio showcasing stylized environments, foliage, and props created for Unreal Engine.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Generalist 3D Artist (or a similar role) in the GameDev industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine, including the material system, lighting, level art, and 3D asset optimization.
  • Advanced stylized texturing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of texture baking pipelines.
  • Experience working with standard industry software (ZBrush, Substance Painter, and one of: Blender/Maya/3ds Max).
  • Strong understanding of both the technical and artistic aspects of level creation.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with character art.
  • Experience with animation.
