Introduction

Gaza Food Project is a volunteer-run solidarity campaign supporting Palestinian-led community kitchens and grassroots projects across Gaza. We mobilise a global network of partners and poster activists to donations that provide direct support — with transparent reporting and a clear, decentralised model.

To make this work, we need our communications to feel consistent, credible, and easy to share. That’s where you come in.

The Role (what you’ll do)

As our Graphic Designer / Canva Lead, you help ensure Gaza Food Project looks and feels cohesive across platforms — while staying fast, practical, and accessible. You’ll take our relatively basic brand guidelines and turn them into clean, strong, repeatable design that the wider team can use confidently.

If you’re also strong with Reels / short-form video, you can help us level up video storytelling.

Commitment

• Minimum commitment: 3 months (continuity matters in a volunteer campaign)
• Time: flexible, average 2–6 hours/week, fully remote
• You’ll collaborate closely with our Comms/Social folks and the coordination team.

Key Work Areas

• Create and refine templates (Canva) for: posts, stories, carousels, partner shout-outs, event promos, thank-yous, and simple infographics
• Maintain visual consistency: typography, spacing, colours, icon style, layout rhythm
• Asset library management: keep files organised, named, and reusable
• Light art direction: suggest improvements so our content feels “designed”, not improvised
• Oversee all our comms from a visual perspective

Optional (Video + Content Creation)

• Turn static assets into short motion clips (Canva, CapCut etc)
• Help shape Reels: pacing, hooks, on-screen text, captions, templates

You’ll be a great fit if you…

• Are an expert in Canva
• Have a strong sense of layout, hierarchy, and readability
• Can work with constraints and still make things look great
• Communicate reliably and kindly in a distributed volunteer team
• You know what performs on IG and can make Reels feel sharp, human, and shareable
• You deeply care about Palestinian liberation and want to become part of a global campaign aiming to support community-led kitchens in Gaza

Transition & Continuity

If you need to step away, we ask for 1 month’s notice where possible, plus a simple handover
