Software Engineer

Our client, a stealth-stage startup building an agentic voice AI product for professional services , is seeking a highly motivated Senior AI Engineer to join their team. This individual will be the first dedicated engineer and will own the full technical surface of the product. The developer will be directly involved in working across the full product, from voice agent behavior and LLM orchestration to the web dashboard where users can configure the agent. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-moving environment and is eager to contribute to a focused team shipping constantly based on real user feedback.

Role

• Design, build, and maintain the core voice AI agent, its supporting infrastructure, and the web-based application.
• Develop and iterate on LLM-powered pipelines for call orchestration, classification, and structured data extraction.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to measure and improve agent performance, including LLM-as-judge approaches.
• Collaborate directly with the founder on product direction, prioritization, and technical feasibility.

Essential Skills

• 4+ years of full-time software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern web frameworks, with Next.js preferred.
• Hands-on experience building applications powered by LLM APIs, such as OpenAI or Anthropic. Experience designing and running evaluations for AI/ML systems.
• Comfort working across the stack, including backend logic, API integrations, and frontend UI.

Beneficial Skills

• Experience with voice AI, telephony, or real-time audio/speech systems.
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks or patterns, such as LangChain or CrewAI.
• Experience with fine-tuning or prompt engineering for production LLM applications.
• Prior experience at an early-stage startup or as a founding or early engineer.

Base salary is $150k-$185k + equity.
