Freelance Product Designer

🧩 About the Role We’re looking for a Freelance Product Designer (20–40 hrs/week) to help shape and scale the user experience across our iOS and web platforms. You’ll partner with engineering and product teams to design seamless, intuitive experiences that help users understand and manage their medical bills and insurance. This is a unique opportunity to bring clarity to a confusing and deeply emotional space—while building a product from the ground up that can genuinely change lives. This is a remote-friendly freelance position. You do not need to be based in New York. That said, we're looking for someone who can align with East Coast hours.🚀 What You’ll Do

• Take Ownership of Product UI/UX: Across web and mobile, and new user-facing features.
• Design End-to-End Experiences: From research and wireframes to high-fidelity designs and developer handoff, you’ll lead the full design lifecycle.
• Advocate for the User: Ground your work in user needs, leveraging qualitative feedback and data to inform decisions.
• Bring on our Brand Designer: Collaborate with our brand designer to create a cohesive brand experience across our products.
• Develop our Design Systems: Help build and evolve our design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and speed.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with engineering, product, and operations to deliver polished, impactful work.
• Ship Thoughtfully: Balance speed and craft to get the right things in front of users at the right time.

👩‍💻 We’ll be most excited if you

• Bring 4–7+ Years of Experience: With 3+ years in product design for consumer apps or platforms.
• Are User-Obsessed: You’re great at understanding problems, running user research, and designing intuitive, human-centered solutions.
• Spike in Visual Design: You're a T-shaped designer who spikes in visual design and are obsessed with building elegant interfaces.
• Have a Strong Portfolio: That shows clean, thoughtful design paired with measurable outcomes.
• Are Fluent in Tools: Figma is your home base. Bonus for experience with motion design, prototyping tools, or no-code platforms.
• Can Work Autonomously: You know how to move from ambiguity to clarity and are comfortable owning initiatives solo or with a team.
• Are Mission-Driven: You care about building something meaningful, especially in a space as personal as healthcare.
