Freelance Illustrator / Graphic Novel or Comic Book Style - Imagine Learning Studios

We’re seeking collaborative freelance illustrator to join our creative team for preferably 6 months, with potential for ongoing renewal, to create brand-based illustrations in graphic novel or comic book style for use in educational products. Freelance Illustrator role:

• Be a great, collaborative illustrator who can bring a high level of illustration abilities to our products
• This will be for a graphic novel or comic book style of illustrator
• Work closely with the creative team and support the illustration needs company-wide 
• Create illustrations for use in both print and digital products adhering to all brand and project guidelines

·     Create illustrations on schedule, in a deadline-facing environment

·     Creative mindset, conceptual skillset, and a mastery of color, shape, and form

·     Will require mockups, storyboarding, and revision rounds before final delivery

·     Project ownership and project collaboration are vital to our process

·     Ensure all illustrations meet quality standards at each stage of creation and development

Qualifications

·     Minimum 5 years experience working as a professional illustrator for a company, design firm, or advertising agency

·     In-depth knowledge and experience using illustration applications and the Adobe creative suites (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

·     Must be able to do a graphic novel or comic books style of illustrations

• Great communication skills and an openness and investment in team collaboration
• Will require own laptop
• Bonus: experience in creating illustrations for children’s products
• Bonus: experience in using AI image creation applications (Midjourney, ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, Runway, etc)

This is a remote or virtual, part-time or full-time position. TBD hourly, depending on experience level. Must be a U.S. citizen and based in the United States.
