Role Overview: We are seeking a creative, self-driven Lead Editor to translate technical concepts, data narratives, and brand stories into clear, compelling visual narratives.
In this role, you will serve as a central motion design resource—fielding and triaging incoming requests from internal stakeholders across C-Suite, Business Development, and Marketing. You will take ownership of the full motion design workflow: interpreting brief materials, balancing incoming requests with proactive conceptual work, and turning abstract ideas into dynamic visual narratives that align with our brand identity. You won't just be executing storyboards; you will be an active partner in shaping how our stories are visually told.
This is a fully remote, global role. We operate on an async-first model, meaning your location and time zone do not matter—you are free to work whenever you are most productive. The only scheduling requirement is the flexibility to attend a couple of fixed weekly team syncs and occasional ad-hoc project alignment meetings, as well as the agility to handle occasional short, time-sensitive project turnarounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Ingestion: Field, triage, and translate incoming requests from marketing, business development, and executive teams into structured visual execution plans.
- Motion Design: Conceptualize, design, and animate high-quality motion graphics for digital products, marketing assets, social media, and corporate communications.
- Story & Narrative Ownership: Analyze project briefs and underlying content to construct clear, logically coherent visual narratives that support our overall brand story.
- End-to-End Animation Pipeline: Manage projects from initial concept and rough visual sketching to motion execution, sound pairing, and final file export.
- Brand Alignment: Work within established brand guidelines, typography systems, visual frameworks, and color palettes.
- Async Collaboration: Communicate design rationale, project updates, and creative concepts clearly in written and asynchronous video formats (e.g., GitHub).
- 2+ years of professional experience as a Motion Graphics Designer or Editor.
- Technical Mastery: Strong proficiency in Adobe Suite, especially After Effects.
- Visual Storytelling & Narrative Sense: Proven portfolio demonstrating high craft in motion design, visual rhythm, timing, typography, and the ability to explain complex ideas visually.
- Creative Autonomy & Agility: Ability to take loose briefs or raw concepts, independently map out motion concepts with minimal daily supervision, and navigate fast-paced deadlines.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with comfort collaborating directly with internal stakeholders in a remote, async environment.
- Meeting Availability: Flexibility to attend a few recurring weekly team syncs and periodic ad-hoc project meetings, regardless of your local time zone.
