Piping Designer (Nuclear)

Kelly Engineering is seeking a REMOTE Piping Designer to join one of our leading clients focused on Nuclear Power Generation, Plant Design, Upgrades, Retrofitting, and New Construction to support projects involving Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and advanced reactor systems.

Ideal Candidate:

• Nuclear Plant experience required
• Someone who is capable of looking at pictures, walkdowns, 2D drawings, then draw isometrics and design custom pipe supports.
• Software requirement: AutoCAD, MicroStation preferred, inventor, and SolidWorks preferred. Revit preferred. Navisworks or Recap.

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D/3D designs and drawings using AutoCAD (and potentially AutoCAD Fusion or similar).
• Create designs for skid-mounted systems, wrap piping, and related mechanical assemblies for advanced reactor applications.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to produce fabrication-ready designs.
• Ensure all designs meet industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
• Support test facility build-out by providing accurate and timely design deliverables.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of drafting/design experience, ideally in energy, nuclear, or advanced manufacturing.
• Proven expertise with AutoCAD (Fusion or other CAD platforms a plus).
• Strong background in skid system design and wrap piping layouts.
• Familiarity with nuclear industry projects, especially SMRs and advanced reactors.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgent deadlines.
