🌟 About the Role

We’re looking for a creative and technically skilled Materials Designer to develop, evaluate, and select materials used in product and system design.

You’ll help shape performance, sustainability, and aesthetics across materials in a fully remote environment.

🎯 What You’ll Do

• Research and select materials for product applications
• Evaluate material properties (strength, durability, cost, sustainability)
• Support product and industrial design teams with material choices
• Test and validate material performance
• Develop material specifications and documentation
• Analyze lifecycle and sustainability impacts
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams
• Identify innovative and sustainable material solutions

🛠️ Tools & Technologies

• Material selection tools and databases
• CAD software (SolidWorks, Rhino – a plus)
• Simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL – a plus)
• Excel for material data analysis
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes

✅ What We’re Looking For

• 2–6 years of experience in materials engineering, design, or related roles
• Strong understanding of material science principles
• Knowledge of metals, polymers, ceramics, and composites
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Experience in material testing or evaluation
• Interest in sustainability and eco-friendly materials
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup
• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or related field
• Full working rights in Australia
