The Role:

Linearity is hiring: Freelance Leather Goods Designer

We launch our Founding Drop in 2026.

Our design methodology is called the Ancestry of Form. It follows a single arc: Virtue → Nature → Form. Every Linearity bag is born from a virtue drawn from feminine archetypes, found first in nature, then translated into the geometry of the object. Resilience becomes the lotus leaf becomes the bag. This is not metaphor applied after the fact. It is the design discipline itself.

We are looking for a freelance leather goods designer(remote) to develop our next collections in this register.

You should apply if you have

– Formal training from a leading design school: École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs (Arts Déco), IFM Paris, École Duperré, Cordwainers (London College of Fashion), Royal College of Art, Polimoda, or equivalent

– Experience designing leather goods at established luxury houses, with a track record of work that begins with concept and ends in form

– A portfolio that demonstrates conceptual rigor — designs derived from a clear intellectual or symbolic source, not surface inspiration

– Working knowledge of Ubrique manufacturing standards or comparable European leather workshops

– Familiarity with plant-based and next-generation materials

-- Comfortable working on production issues that requires resdesign in strict timelines

– Comfort working with light direction and the autonomy to develop ideas independently

– Willingness to iterate in conversation with the founder and the workshop

• Fluency in Spanish a huge plus
• Multi disciplinary designer a huge plus
• Internationally trained designer a huge plus

What this role is not

This is not a role for designers who want a brief and a deadline. We work in conversation. The right designer is intellectually curious, references widely across art and craft and mythological traditions, and treats every detail — the curve of a clasp, the placement of a stitch, the proportion of a strap — as a design decision rooted in the brand's design philosophy.

This is also not a role for designers who design in their own signature. Linearity has a defined design DNA. The designer's work is to extend it, not impose another voice on it.
