Full Stack Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're seeking a highly skilled and passionate Full-stack Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a deep understanding of scalable web applications, and is eager to leverage Artificial Intelligence to enhance user experiences, drive engagement, and uncover valuable insights. You'll be instrumental in building the next generation of our gamified platform, from intuitive user interfaces to robust, performant backend services, with a keen eye on integrating AI/ML capabilities across the stack.

RESPONSIBILTIES

• End-to-end Development: Design, develop, and deploy high-quality, scalable, and maintainable full-stack applications using React, Node.js, and other core technologies.
• Frontend Mastery: Drive the architecture and implementation of responsive, performant, and engaging user interfaces using React, ensuring exceptional user experience across web and mobile platforms.
• Backend Powerhouse: Build and maintain robust, secure, and scalable API services and microservices that power our gaming platform, handling high volumes of real-time data.
• AI Integration: Research, design, and implement AI/ML features into our products, focusing on areas such as:
• Personalisation: Tailoring game content, recommendations, and user journeys.
• Predictive Analytics: Forecasting user behaviour, churn, and engagement patterns.
• Content Generation: Exploring generative AI for dynamic game elements or marketing assets.
• Fraud Detection/Responsible Gaming: Enhancing platform security and player welfare through intelligent systems.
• Data & Insights: Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to integrate AI models, manage data pipelines, and expose actionable insights through our platform dashboards.
• Architectural Vision: Contribute significantly to the architectural design and technical roadmap of our platform, advocating for best practices, scalability, and performance.
• Mentorship & Collaboration: Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of technical excellence within the team.
• Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges, debug issues across the stack, and ensure optimal performance and reliability of our systems.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Full-stack Engineer, with a strong focus on React and Node.js.
• Previous experience working within, gamification, betting/gambling, gaming or iGaming.

Frontend Mastery:

• Expertise in React.js, including Hooks, Context API, and modern state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand).
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and modern CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS, styled-components).
• Deep understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and web performance optimization.
• Experience with build tools like Webpack, Vite.

Backend Prowess:

• Proficient in Node.js and frameworks like Fastify.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and ideally GraphQL.
• Solid understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL, e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.

Cloud & DevOps:

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) concepts.

AI/ML Skillsets:

• Applied AI Knowledge: Practical experience integrating and consuming AI/ML models within a production environment.
• Familiarity with common AI/ML concepts (e.g., supervised/unsupervised learning, NLP, computer vision fundamentals).
• Experience working with AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Google Cloud AI, AWS AI Services) or integrating with custom-built models.
• Understanding of data processing for AI/ML applications and data pipeline considerations.
• Knowledge of Python for AI/ML scripting is a significant plus.
• Strong grasp of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and clean code principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to debugging and optimization.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience in the iGaming, sports, or entertainment industry.
• Familiarity with Web3 technologies, NFTs, or blockchain.
• Experience with real-time data processing (e.g., WebSockets, Kafka).
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub profile.
• Experience with A/B testing frameworks and analytics platforms.
