UI/UX Architect
Job Description
Posted on: June 6, 2026
📍work from Poland
Project Description:
We are building a lightweight, behind-the-meter Energy Management & Optimization System (EMOS) for an enterprises. The solution monitors site energy flows across grid connection points (PCCs) and on-site resources such as PV fields, wind turbines, battery storage, EV charging, and multiple load groups with different priorities. EMOS provides near-term forecasting (load and renewables), runs deterministic optimization and policy rules in modes like cost, cap compliance, and resilience, and produces schedules and setpoints for controllable assets and flexible loads. The system supports what-if simulations, operator approvals, audit logging, and safe rollback/fail-safe behavior where local control always has priority. The goal is to reduce energy cost and peaks, keep grid import within contracted limits, increase self-consumption of renewables, and improve operational resilience—without the complexity and cost of utility-grade platforms. Tech stack: modern Java backend, Angular frontend, CI/CD with Jenkins and Docker, Jira/Confluence.
Responsibilities:
Define personas, user journeys, and operator workflows (monitor → decide → approve → dispatch).
Create information architecture and navigation for EMOS (assets, topology, plans, KPIs).
Design UI patterns for explainability ("why this plan"), what-if, and alerts.
Create wireframes/prototypes and iterate with stakeholders and engineers.
Define visual design system and component guidelines for Angular implementation.
Ensure usability under operational constraints (fast scanning, clear status, error states).
Specify interaction rules for approvals, audit trail views, and rollback flows.
Collaborate on UX acceptance criteria and usability testing sessions.
Mandatory Skills Description:
Proven UX for complex B2B/industrial products (dashboards, control workflows).
Strong interaction design: stateful flows, permissions, approvals, warnings.
Ability to simplify complex domain concepts into clear, minimal UI.
Prototyping (Figma or similar), design systems, accessibility basics.
Collaboration with engineers: handoff specs, responsive behavior, edge cases.
Nice-to-Have Skills Description:
Experience with energy/microgrid/DER, building ops, or SCADA-like UX patterns.
Data visualization for time-series and operational KPIs.
Familiarity with Angular component libraries and practical UI constraints.
Experience designing for "human-in-the-loop" automation and trust/explainability.
