Game Designer Responsibilities:
- Drive the design development of features created within Horizon
- Bring design solutions to life with dynamic interactive prototypes and support their final delivery in-product
- Create original documentation and supporting evidence, collating research findings and working with engineers and product managers to assess viability
- Develop and maintain tools and systems for creating designs, explore new methodologies and practices to aid speedy development
- Iterate existing solutions based on analytics and user feedback, addressing gaps or issues raised
- Build strong collaborative working relationships across the team to ensure consistent high quality user experiences
- Integrate new technologies and ideas into Horizon Worlds to empower creators
- 3+ years of commercial feature design experience within games
- Interest in and understanding of a broad variety of game genres and styles
- Experience with tools such as Figma and a good understanding of creating comprehensive documentation and designs
- Experience creating comprehensive design documentation and presenting designs to cross-discipline teams
- Experience constructing and working within UI and mechanic design systems
- Experience with AI creation tools and systems
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Experience with UI design or artistic skills for creating original raster/vector art for mockups
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience with user experience research and feedback, and using both qualitative and quantitative data to improve designs and propose new solutions
- Knowledge and/or experience with game development engines (Unreal, Unity, etc)
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Portfolio showing previous work
