About the role

We're looking for an exceptional Founding Design Engineer (Front-end) and product thinker who wants to make Novis' AI-powered knowledge work platform the best in the world.

What You'll Do

• Make Novis' AI-powered interfaces fast, intuitive, and delightful at scale
• Help push forward AI-human interaction research and deploy breakthrough design innovations to knowledge workers worldwide
• Obsess over every pixel and interaction, ensuring end-to-end quality and performance across complex AI workflows
• Design and implement the future of how humans collaborate with AI systems

Who You Are

• Well-versed in modern frontend technologies and design systems architecture
• Expert in React, TypeScript, and preferably proficient in Next.js and Tailwind CSS
• Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional UI/UX design skills for complex applications
• In-depth knowledge and experience building high-performance, data-heavy interfaces
• Obsessed with user experience, design quality, and product excellence
• Track record of shipping polished products from 0 to 1 at early-stage startups

Tech Stack

React, TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Figma, Vercel AI SDK, WebSocket, etc.

Interview Process

After submitting your application, the team reviews your portfolio and statement of exceptional work. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 15-30 minute phone interview, during which a member of our team will discuss your design philosophy and technical approach. If you clear the phone interview, you will proceed to next steps:

• Deep dive design and coding challenge
• Meet and greet with the wider team

Our goal is to complete the process within one week. All interviews will be conducted remotely.
