I’m recruiting for a Lead UI Engineer to join a fast-growing, remote-first digital consultancy. You’ll lead front-end delivery across client projects and internal products, shaping modern, performant, and accessible web interfaces

This role combines hands-on React/Next.js engineering with mentoring, architectural guidance, and cross-functional collaboration.

I’ve successfully placed 10 engineers in this company already, all with great feedback on team culture, career growth, and project variety. This is an excellent opportunity to make a tangible impact on both products and people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead front-end engineering, building responsive, mobile-first UI with HTML, CSS, SASS, JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
  • Develop robust React and Next.js applications with SSR, reusable component libraries, and scalable architecture
  • Collaborate closely with UX, visual designers, and back-end teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality interfaces
  • Mentor and support front-end engineers, running code reviews and guiding best practices
  • Communicate design and technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clients
  • Contribute to project scoping, estimation, and delivery planning
  • Debug, optimise, and maintain performance, accessibility, and test coverage of web applications

What We’re Looking ForEssential:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React, Next.js
  • Proven track record leading front-end delivery or mentoring engineers
  • Strong understanding of responsive, adaptive, mobile-first design, UX principles, and reusable component libraries
  • Experience with Figma/Adobe XD and collaborating with designers
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Webpack, Babel, accessibility standards, SEO for front-end, and design systems
  • Experience working in cross-functional product teams
