About the role
OKO is a smart plant-care product preparing to launch, and we’re looking for a part-time Social Media Graphic Designer to help bring our brand to life across social.
This is a remote role for approximately half a day per week, ideal for a current design student looking to gain hands-on experience working with an early-stage consumer brand.
Each week, you’ll work with our existing creative direction, photography, video and brand assets to plan and design the following week’s Instagram content — creating a cohesive mix of grid posts, carousels, Stories and Reel covers.
The brand identity and creative direction are already in place. Your role is to take the assets we create and turn them into thoughtful, engaging and visually consistent social content each week.
Success in the role means our social channels feel considered and cohesive, content is prepared ahead of schedule, and our creative direction is translated consistently across different formats.
Responsibilities
- Plan and design the following week’s Instagram content
- Turn photography, video and existing brand assets into grid posts, carousels and Stories
- Create Reel covers and simple graphic assets where needed
- Consider how individual posts work together as a cohesive feed
- Adapt assets across different social formats
- Prepare and organise finished assets ready for posting
- Bring fresh ideas and references to how we present the brand on social
Qualifications
We’re particularly interested in current graphic design, visual communication or related design students at UAL, Kingston, RCA, Goldsmiths or other London design schools.
- Strong visual eye and creative instincts
- Portfolio demonstrating strong graphic design work
- Good understanding of Instagram and contemporary social content
- Confidence working with existing photography and brand assets
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and deliver consistently each week
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma or equivalent design tools
- Interest in contemporary consumer brands, editorial design, lifestyle, interiors, art or photography
Previous professional experience is not required. We care much more about your portfolio, visual taste and ability to turn a set of assets into great social content.
Commitment: Approx. half a day per week
Location: Remote
Start: Week of 5 October
