Role Description:

This is a project-based, part-time, outside-lR35 remote opportunity for an experienced back-end Drupal Developer at ORION WEB. The back-end Drupal Developer will be responsible for the creation and expansion of custom modules, performance optimisation, integration with APls etc (see below for required skills).

Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing best practices in web development and ensuring high performance and availability of Drupal (mostly 11, 10, 9) websites.

Please note that we require you to be based in the UK or an EMEA Time Zone (UTC 0 to UTC +3) to ensure coverage during core UK working hours.

Contract market rates offered based on seniority.

Required Proficiency in:

  • Writing well-documented, standardised, testable, maintainable and scalable code
  • Back-End Web Development, PHP Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Symfony
  • Database technologies including MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
  • Drupal caching model and website performance optimisation, including Cloudflare, Akamai, New Relic
  • External API integrations through contributed or bespoke modules
  • Drupal Commerce and related modules Drupal Queues API & Drupal Keys
  • Drush, Composer, Configuration Management (including Config Split & Ignore)
  • Plugins, Services, Drupal APls
  • Data & site migrations, including from Drupal 7 to higher versions
  • Website security optimisation techniques and standards
  • Established version control standards and platforms including actions and pipelines Ci/cd deployment and release cycle standards and processes
  • Working with hosting providers including AWS, Platform SH (Upsun), Pantheon, Acquia Containerised development, Apache, nginx
  • Support development of / transition to headless/decoupled Drupal architectures
  • Stakeholder & team collaboration

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the digital agency field 
  • Client-facing experience, translating ideas to requirements
  • Extended DevOps experience
  • Mentoring experience
