πŸš€ Power BI Visualisation & UX Specialist (Contract)πŸ’· Rate: cΒ£500 per day (Outside IR35)

πŸ“… Duration: 3 Months Initial

🌍 Location: Remote (UK Based)

🌟 The Mission: High-Impact Data Storytelling

We have successfully navigated the "Data Collection" challenge, amassing over 40 million rows of live operational data within a robust Microsoft Fabric and Data Lake environment. The challenge now lies in the "Last Mile." 🏁

We need a Power BI expert who operates like a Product Designer to wrap our technical architecture in a "super coating" of world-class UI/UX. This is a high-visibility "Value-Proof" mission. You are being brought in to demonstrate that premium, intuitive data visualisation is a critical commercial differentiator that protects revenue and strengthens our brand - proving it is a specialist design function, not just a back-office IT task.

🎯 The Core Deliverable: The "24 Template" Sprint

Your primary objective is to design, build, and deploy a standardised suite of Power BI Templates. πŸ› οΈ

  • The Matrix: You will create bespoke visualisations for diverse Business Sectors across Core Service Lines
  • The UX Shift: You will overhaul the user journey, replacing clunky, multi-layered drill-downs with intuitive, button-based navigation and "App-like" interfaces.
  • The Goal: To unblock our ability to provide executive-grade, "scannable" reporting to a "Platinum" customer base, moving from functional spreadsheets to premium, client-ready portals.
  • Brand Integration: You will ensure every template aligns with premium brand guidelines, potentially influencing visual standards for print and digital accessibility.

πŸ‘€ The Profile

  • Power BI Artisan: You don't just build reports; you create experiences. You push the boundaries of the tool to ensure the User Interface is the product.
  • UX/UI Specialist: You have a deep obsession with whitespace, typography, and Information Architecture. You understand how to present complex audit data so it is easily consumable for C-suite stakeholders.
  • Proactive Owner: You take full accountability for the "build." You don't just highlight "broken" UX or messy data; you fix it and ensure the measures are robust and future-proof.
  • Technical Breadth: Mastery of DAX and Power Query is non-negotiable. Experience with Power Apps or the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem is a significant plus.

πŸ“ The Process: Proof of Capability

This role is the linchpin for our FY27 reporting strategy. To ensure we find a partner who can "hit the ground running," our selection process is rigorous:

  1. Portfolio Review: We require evidence of previous work that prioritises the user journey and high-end visual polish over basic data plotting.
  2. Case Study: Finalists will be provided with a sample dataset or a "functional but unpolished" existing dashboard. You will be tasked with demonstrating how you would transform it into a premium, customer-facing product to secure final internal sign-off.
