Java Software Engineer

UK Based - Remote

As a Software Engineer, you’ll design and build backend, service, and portal systems that power modern, scalable platforms. You’ll work across a variety of languages, frameworks, and services, using practices like BDD and CI/CD, and contribute to projects of all sizes in a fast-moving, low-bureaucracy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate merchant and partner needs into high-quality, value-driven solutions.
• Improve development processes through automation and simplification.
• Collaborate to deliver technically accurate, user-focused solutions with quality at every stage.
• Support estimation, planning, communication, and issue resolution.
• Assist with deployments across test and production environments.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Knowledge of Linux/Windows development, database design, and web-client programming (HTML, JavaScript, CSS).
• Experience with server-side development.
• Strong skills in an OO language (e.g., C#, Java).
• Understanding of Design Patterns, Refactoring, and OO Design.
• Proactive, analytical, detail-oriented, and strong communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a team.
