We’re looking for a Visual Designer with strong illustration skills to join Rooted as a volunteer collaborator, helping us build our emotional plant visual system—a core part of how users experience emotions within our app.

At ROOTED, we translate emotions into living, growing plant forms. This role is about turning abstract emotional states into gentle, expressive, plant-based visuals that feel human, warm, and meaningful.

🌿 What You’ll Do

• Design visual concepts and illustration systems for emotional plant characters
• Translate emotions into plant forms, expressions, and colour systems
• Create vector-based illustration assets for a mobile app environment
• Collaborate with product and brand teams to ensure visual consistency
• Help evolve a coherent illustration style within the rooted brand system

🌱 What We’re Looking For

• Background in Visual Design / Illustration / Graphic Design
• Strong illustration skills and comfort designing within a brand system
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop
• Experience creating vector illustrations for digital products
• Understanding of mobile app or digital product contexts

✨ Nice to Have

• Character or IP-style visual system experience
• Work on apps, games, or interactive products
• Interest in emotional design, wellbeing, nature, or plant themes
