Head of UX/Design (eCommerce/Shopify)

About the RoleAs the Head of Design, you’ll shape the creative vision for Shero’s eCommerce clients across industries such as beauty, fashion, lifestyle, B2B, and beyond. You’ll own the design process end-to-end, from UX strategy to high-fidelity UI, while ensuring every project aligns with business goals, the client’s brand book, and best-in-class user experience principles.

You’ll collaborate closely with Solutions Architects, Developers, and Marketers to bring ideas to life and help us continue to raise the bar for what great eCommerce design looks like.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the full design process for eCommerce projects, from discovery and UX mapping to final UI and hand-off.
• Manage and mentor other designers, ensuring design excellence, consistency, and growth across the team.
• Create visually stunning, conversion-focused Shopify store designs and digital experiences that reflect each client’s brand and business objectives.
• Present and defend design decisions to clients with clarity, confidence, and data-driven reasoning.
• Manage and continuously evolve Shero’s internal website, driving a fresh, modern design that reflects our brand, showcases our capabilities, and enhances the overall user experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SAs, Developers, and Marketing) as well as clients to ensure designs are not only visually compelling but also grounded in eCommerce best practices that support strong usability and conversion.
• Establish and evolve Shero’s design systems, UX standards, and creative processes to support scalability and innovation.
• Support the Sales Division as needed by joining client calls to discuss design strategy and showcase Shero’s creative process for new business opportunities.
• Stay on top of eCommerce, Shopify, and UX/UI design trends to proactively bring fresh ideas to the table.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Website/Product or UX/UI Design, with a strong portfolio of eCommerce work (Shopify preferred).
• Proven track record leading or mentoring other designers and contributing to team growth.
• Deep understanding of eCommerce UX patterns, responsive design, accessibility, and conversion optimization principles.
• Proficiency with Figma.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills. You can articulate design decisions to both creative and non-creative stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset. You understand how design impacts brand perception, engagement, and performance.
• Agency experience is a major plus.
• A passion for great design, constant learning, and pushing creative boundaries.Bonus Points For

• Experience working with Shopify Plus or headless commerce builds.
• Familiarity with CRO tools (Hotjar, Clarity, GA4) and how UX impacts KPIs.
• Motion design or interactive experience prototyping skills.
