Freelance Product Designer (f/m/d)

We are seeking a Freelance Product Designer (f/m/d) to join our UX Design and Research Team. Our Design team is made up of product designers, researchers, and graphic designers. We work with product managers, engineers, analytics, marketing, customer success staff and more. We believe in a collaborative, lean and hypothesis-driven approach to our work. Product and Tech is working in a self-organised model, which moves away from hierarchy.

In addition to designers being embedded in product teams, we spend time together in the Design & Research team. We invested effort to build our design culture and have a strong team spirit.

What Will You Be Doing

• Design and refine UI for new OTR products (loan, credit card, car insurance, mortgage) ensuring visual and behavioural consistency.
• Create new design assets such as hero banners, icons, and components aligned with the brand system.
• Collaborate with the internal team to ideate new user flow scenarios and interface improvements.
• Ensure responsive layouts and consistent interaction states across all product pages.
• Deliver production-ready Figma files and support developers during implementation.
• Maintain and expand the existing visual design system to support future features (e.g. filters, multi-option flows).

What Are We Looking For

• Proven experience (2+ years) designing web or product interfaces with a focus on usability and consistency
• Strong understanding of user experience principles and ability to translate business needs into clear, intuitive designs
• Able to translate delivered user research and data insights into actionable design decisions
• Skilled in Figma (component systems, responsive design, design handoff) and previously used Jira and Miro
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and open to collaboration and feedback
• Comfortable working in agile or cross-functional teams with developers and product managers
• Basic knowledge of German is a plus
