Frontend Software Engineer
🎵 Music Tech | 🧠GenAI | 🌍 Power Music Distribution | 📍 Remote PST Preferred
Mid to Senior-Level | High Ownership | Fast-Moving Team
About Us
We’re building a next-generation music distribution and label operations platform for modern catalog owners, independent labels, and creators. From music distribution workflows (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) and metadata management to royalty tracking and reporting — we’re modernizing the infrastructure of music. Our edge: GenAI is embedded throughout the platform to streamline tasks, surface insights, and reduce manual overhead.
We operate with startup speed — shipping in days to weeks, not months — and are backed by a parent company with over 20 years in the music industry. That gives us rare access, long-term stability, and deep credibility with artists, labels, and rights holders.
The Role
We’re hiring a mid to senior level Frontend Software Engineer to own and elevate the user experience across our music distribution platform. You’ll lead the development of intuitive, responsive interfaces in Next.js + TypeScript, shaping how artists and labels interact with our catalog tools, royalty dashboards, and AI-powered features. This role is central to defining and delivering a world-class frontend experience end-to-end.
You’ll work alongside our Tech Lead (ex-FAANG) and receive technical and product mentorship from our Staff Engineer. You'll also collaborate regularly with senior business leaders including an ex-Tech & Operations Executive from a major-owned music company and an ex-SoundCloud VP — ensuring engineering is tightly aligned with real-world music operations and strategy. You’ll be supported by mid-to-senior offshore engineers to ship fast and iterate quickly.
This position is on a clear path for you to fully own the platform UI/UX within 3–6 months — shaping the experience end-to-end and defining how artists and labels interact with our product.
What You’ll Work On
- Build modern UI components and views in Next.js + TypeScript for catalog tools, release workflows, royalty tracking, and reporting
- Contribute to backend services and APIs in Node.js to support music distribution workflows, metadata pipelines, and internal APIs
- Work with the team to integrate GenAI into key product experiences
- Translate business and technical input into scalable, intuitive product features
- Deploy and monitor services in AWS with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
- Use tools like Figma, Lovable, and Cursor to iterate faster, test ideas, and write high-quality code
- Take increasing ownership of our product UI/UX and design system, with a path to lead it fully
You Might Be a Fit If You:
- Have 5–7 years of professional frontend experience using React/Next.js and TypeScript
- Fluent in modern HTML, CSS, and Tailwind; skilled in building responsive, accessible user interfaces
- Are comfortable contributing to backend services in Node.js and working with REST APIs
- Can gather and translate technical and non-technical requirements into product-ready features
- Interested in building AI-integrated user experiences
- Are passionate about the music industry and eager to solve problems in music distribution workflows, metadata, and royalties
- Thrive in fast-paced, startup-like environments and want to help shape the product, not just build it
- Available during PST hours and open to traveling to Los Angeles up to once per quarter for team collaboration (travel expenses covered)
Why Join Us?
- Help build the first music distribution platform with GenAI embedded end-to-end
- Partner with senior developers and offshore engineers to move fast and ship meaningful features
- Build infrastructure that powers how artists and labels distribute music, manage royalties, and track earnings
- Stack: Next.js, Node.js, Python, AWS, Amazon Bedrock, LangChain
- Tooling: Cursor, Figma, Lovable
- Salary: $140,000 – $170,000 USD, depending on experience and interview performance
- Year-end bonus (completely discretionary)
- Full health coverage (100% employer-paid)
- 401(k)/RRSP match up to 4%
- Unlimited PTO
- Flexible remote setup with preference for PST
