Role Description The WordPress Developer will be responsible for building, customizing, and maintaining WordPress websites that support Summits Connect’s event and content initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include developing and updating themes and plugins, implementing responsive layouts, optimizing site performance, and ensuring cross-browser compatibility. The role involves collaborating with content and marketing teams to translate design mockups and event requirements into intuitive, user-friendly web experiences, while maintaining security and best practices. This is a part-time, remote role, requiring effective communication, reliable time management, and proactive problem-solving in a distributed team environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Front-End Development and Responsive Web Design skills.
- Candidates should possess solid Back-End Web Development and general Web Development skills.
- Candidates should possess Web Design skills focused on user experience and visual consistency.
- Experience with WordPress core, themes, and plugins, including custom development and configuration.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, with familiarity in modern front-end frameworks a plus.
- Knowledge of website performance optimization, SEO best practices, and security standards.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time workload, and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience supporting event, media, or content-driven websites is beneficial.
- Relevant education or equivalent professional experience in web development or related fields.
