About The Role We are seeking an experienced Lead Front-End Engineer to join our dynamic team at Surefront. This role is ideal for a passionate technology enthusiast who thrives in a startup environment characterized by agility, innovation, and a fast-paced work culture. As a key member of our engineering team, you will collaborate closely with product managers and leadership to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge features for our platform. Your expertise will help shape the technical direction of our front-end architecture, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and high-performance applications. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes. Initially remote, this position offers flexibility and will be based out of California once circumstances permit. Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with React and Redux or equivalent front-end frameworks
  • 1+ year of leadership experience managing or mentoring engineering teams
  • Strong proficiency in React with Redux, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Experience implementing responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration techniques
  • Previous startup experience is a plus
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills
  • California permanent resident status

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review and refine product requirements and specifications
  • Lead the development of a React/Redux single-page application ensuring best practices and high-quality code
  • Make architectural decisions and select appropriate design patterns and front-end libraries to optimize performance and maintainability
  • Ensure comprehensive testing of the codebase through unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and promote adherence to industry standards
  • Coordinate effectively with other engineering team members to deliver features on time and to specification
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate best practices into development processes
