About The Role We are seeking a talented Senior Motion Designer to join our dynamic creative team at Whatnot. This role involves crafting visually compelling motion graphics that define and elevate the company’s brand identity across various campaigns, product launches, and live moments both on-platform and in physical spaces. As a key contributor, you will collaborate closely with brand designers and creative leads to conceptualize and execute high-impact motion content that resonates with diverse audiences. Your expertise in both 2D and 3D motion design will be instrumental in bringing depth, energy, and storytelling elements into projects from inception to final delivery. You will have the opportunity to experiment with emerging tools, explore new visual approaches, and influence the evolution of Whatnot’s motion language. This role requires a hands-on designer with a refined aesthetic, strong technical skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You will partner with marketing, product, and communications teams to develop motion assets that support strategic objectives and enhance brand visibility across digital and physical touchpoints. The ideal candidate is passionate about innovation, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to shaping the visual narrative of a rapidly growing company. Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of professional experience in motion design with a strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality work across 2D and 3D projects
• Expert-level proficiency with Adobe After Effects
• Strong working knowledge of Cinema 4D and Redshift
• Proven ability to produce refined, detail-oriented motion graphics within tight timelines
• Experience in animating 3D models and scenes with effective timing, pacing, and storytelling
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including designers, marketers, and creative leads
• Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset in a fast-moving environment

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with marketing, product, and communications teams to develop and execute motion graphics that align with campaign strategies and business goals
• Conceptualize and produce high-quality 2D and 3D motion content for campaigns, product launches, events, and brand activations from initial concept through final delivery
• Animate 3D models and scenes, ensuring strong timing, camera work, and storytelling to enhance visual impact
• Contribute to the visual direction and layout thinking, ensuring motion design is a core element of brand representation across digital and physical platforms
• Utilize Cinema 4D, Adobe Creative Suite, and Figma to bring creative ideas to life effectively
• Experiment with new visual techniques, emerging tools, and industry trends to keep motion work innovative and culturally relevant
• Deliver polished, production-ready assets within deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship
• Help evolve Whatnot’s motion language through continuous exploration and creative experimentation
