- Hours: Monday through Friday (35 hours/wk schedule).
Our client, a non-profit organization (to be disclosed during process), is looking for a mission driven Social Media Community Manager to be the face and voice of the organization on social.
Summary:
The Social Media Community Manager acts as an extension of the organization's brand and is responsible for being the face and voice of the organization on social. They facilitate and engage 800K+ community members across social channels and beyond. They understand digital marketing and apply strategic creativity to meet marketing goals. Keeping in line with brand persona and tone of voice this person uses online tools and in-person networking to create relationships building the company’s brand, both online and off.
They are mission driven, passionate about using social media for good, and have their finger on the pulse with trends, best practices, and pop culture. This role not only requires creating memorable interactions that meet our community’s needs, but they also identify potential partnership opportunities, assess brand risks, and can spot potential crises.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
• Use Sprout Social to do social listening, track sentiment, and perform community management outreach. Identify threats and opportunities in user generated content. Discern when to take an issue off-line.
• Flag and escalate potential reputational risks quickly and clearly.
• Provide Reports for timely activations as well as MOM/YOY metrics.
• Manage and maintain tagging structures of community and content within Sprout Social.
• Evaluate how to best scale communities and connect with new constituents.
• Execute both agency-provided and self-generated conversation starters on community-driven platforms (Threads, X, Bluesky), and actively engage with users to foster authentic dialogue.
• Attend campaign kickoffs, get clear understanding of social KPIs, and regroup with agency partners to execute deliverables/social plan that best meet objectives.
• Work with cross-functional teams closely and agency partners to develop social plan for marketing campaigns.
• Identify opportunities for real-time marketing via live chats, trending conversations, or blood cancer support groups.
Strategy/Planning:
• Use data to inform strategic decisions to key stakeholders.
• Explore and test new tools, formats, and social features to keep content fresh and aligned with best practices.
• Think of future activations to foster meaningful relationships that rally our community members.
• Work with Content team to identify constituent stories for activation days/months 3 months in advance.
• Work with agency partners to strategize social media calendar 3 months in advance.
• Determine topics to be explored based on content strategy and brand priorities.
• Use Sprout Social to tag, analyze, and report on data efforts that drive the most traffic to .org, blogs, cross-channel metrics.
• Keep consistent pulse on competitors.
Content Development:
• Support day-to-day social media needs by ideating content, writing captions, managing tagging, scheduling, and publishing; provide coverage for team members as needed, including monitoring and engaging outside standard business hours for special events (virtual or in-person).
• Use creative writing/copy editing skills to draft toolkits for blog rollouts.
• Use Trello to write, review, and edit captions across all posts shared on channels.
• Ensure content is adapted per channel best practices.
• Work with agency and external teams to ensure brand and brand tone of voice is met.
• Work with content and design team to ensure grammar and brand consistency.
• Continuously study copywriting tactics and best practices to improve (including AI).
Position Requirements:
• Excellent written communication skills with emphasis on clarity and whit
• Ability to manage multiple campaign projects while not compromising creative quality
• Understanding of testing and performance to enhance social content
• Experience with Sprout Social for Business (or social listening tool alike)
• Familiarity with Microsoft suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
• Experience implementing branding
