Overview This position will be a key member of the team responsible for building Talcott’s retail distribution infrastructure. The core responsibilities of the Relationship Manager will focus on developing and implementing short and long-term strategies for building client relationships, generating new business, and driving revenue growth. In collaborating cross-functionally, this role will understand how product refinements and service improvements can impact the broader company strategy and operational demands. Incumbents in this role should be able to effectively communicate and successfully collaborate with on a team of many different stakeholders. Our position reports to the Head of Retail Distribution and is central to our entrepreneurial strategy. Additional key responsibilities for this position include: Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head of Retail Distribution to develop appropriate business plans to maximize sales and meet business growth objectives.
- Effectively engage with Independent Marketing Organization (IMO) marketers. Independent agents and independent financial advisors to promote the sales of Talcott annuities.
- Spend 70% of time meeting face to face with IMO principals, marketers, and agents and 30% of their time in their home office making outbound phone calls to marketers and producers.
- Build and maintain marketer and producer relationships to keep them informed of market and industry trends as well as product changes and enhancements.
- Identify and develop new advisors while maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing advisors.
- Drive sales through but not limited to outbound calling, webinars, field activity and in-person meetings. This will include effectively utilizing technology to support proactive and reactive responses and facilitating meetings and presentations.
- Responsible for executing frequent touch points with assigned agents and marketers.
- Create/Execute/Follow up on email campaigns.
- Schedule/Coordinate/Run conference calls/webinars/go-to-meetings/campaigns on a national level.
- Conduct product and sales training through individual and group training sessions, seminars, workshops, and conferences. The position will deliver sales ideas and client solutions in a value and incremental approach.
- Strategically plan and deploy resources into the assigned territory through marketing and sales initiatives.
- Ownership of budget and expense account
- Daily use of CRM to input pertinent sales data including contacts, notes, activities, and follow-up.
- Always maintain a high level of professional conduct
- In depth knowledge of fixed and fixed indexed annuities. The person will also demonstrate an understanding of how the products fit into a client’s overall financial plan.
- Note* This position can be remote and shall require 70% travel within the United States
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry sales experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- ‘Digital’ and ‘Virtual’ skillset with ability to have input into future systems.
- Annuity sales industry experience strongly preferred.
- IMO channel experience strongly preferred.
- State insurance license strongly preferred.
- Ability to navigate computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience with annuity illustration software preferred.
- Must be an initiative-taker and able to work independently.
- Proven sales acumen and strong presentation skills
- Ability to cultivate and retain productive relationships.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet specific sales and marketing objectives.
