Contract Product Designer (B2B) | Outside IR35 | Remote UK

Tech Shack is recruiting a Contract Product Designer on behalf of a fast-growing B2B technology company. The business is building a new product for business customers and needs a designer to start quickly. This is an outside IR35 engagement, open to UK-based candidates only.
About the role
You will own the design of features on a new B2B product, from early discovery through to engineering handoff. Most of the work is greenfield, so you will shape the experience from the ground up rather than iterating on an existing product. You will work closely with product and engineering in a remote-first, fast-paced team, designing for technical users and making a complex product feel simple and trustworthy.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design for features, from framing and discovery through to delivery
- Sketch, prototype and test concepts with users to reduce risk before build
- Partner with product and engineering to scope, iterate and ship
- Design clear, intuitive experiences for a technical B2B audience
- Contribute to the design system and keep patterns consistent
- Write clear design specs and support engineering through implementation
Requirements
- Commercial experience designing B2B or SaaS web products, with a portfolio of shipped work
- Strong UX and UI fundamentals, with clean visual craft
- Curiosity about complex technical products and the ability to design for technical users
- Interest in using AI tools as part of your design workflow
- A data-informed approach to design decisions
- Clear written and verbal communication, and a collaborative approach to feedback
- Right to work in the UK

- Experience with developer tools or platform products
- Startup or scale-up background
- Interaction design, motion and typography skills
