Frontend Product Engineer – AI Legal Platform (+ Equity) at Seed-Stage Legal Tech Startup

About the Role

As a Frontend Product Engineer, you will build the user-facing layer of an AI-native legal platform, turning backend systems and AI agent outputs into intuitive, trustworthy interfaces for lawyers. Your work ensures that agent actions are visible, reversible, and actionable, helping lawyers focus on judgment and outcomes rather than low-leverage tasks. You’ll translate product goals into user-facing workflows, designing scalable UI patterns while maintaining system awareness of backend APIs and agent behavior.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build agent interaction surfaces: chat, action suggestions, citations, and outputs that make AI agent activity clear and actionable.
• Develop document workflows: DOCX review and editing, diffs, comments, apply/reject flows, and multi-collaborator support.
• Design workflow UX: dashboards, matter views, timelines, and task states that maintain context and clarity across complex legal cases.
• Create frontend foundations: scalable UI patterns, state management, and abstractions in Next.js and TypeScript for rapid, maintainable product development.
• Collaborate with founders and senior engineers to shape product direction and frontend architecture.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in frontend product engineering with scalable UI design.
• Ability to design workflows and interfaces with system awareness of backend APIs.
• Strong experience in state management, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Proven ability to translate product requirements into intuitive user-facing workflows.
• Autonomous, responsible, and able to own complex product areas end-to-end.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive salary: £100,000 – £200,000 + meaningful equity.

• Annual company offsite in Mallorca and regular team gatherings in London or New York.
• Remote work between GMT-5 and GMT+1, with optional office presence in London or New York.
