The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) and its affiliate, the Research Foundation of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, are vibrant, collegial and highly respected communities of health care professionals who have been dedicated to advancing the understanding, prevention and treatment of disorders of the colon, rectum and anus for nearly 125 years. ASCRS represents nearly 5,000 physicians and other health care providers interested in the specialty of colon, rectal and anal surgery. What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, this position will manage digital asset production and planning for the Society and the Research Foundation. The manager is directly responsible for the ASCRS Podcast, monthly video projects, graphic design and website updates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the Director, Marketing and Communication, support all ASCRS departments on designs for social media posts, newsletters, website imagery, annual reports, educational products, onsite branding and more.
• Oversee ASCRS brand management and ensure all content aligns with established branding guidelines.
• Record, edit and publish the official ASCRS podcast, Gut Check.
• Record and edit videos with ASCRS staff, member leaders and committee members, as well as editing and creating promotional videos for various in-person events and conferences.
• Oversee ASCRS YouTube and Vimeo presences and plans for promotion.
• Evaluate, refine, and maintain branding strategy.
• Lead the development of new branding and branding compliance.
• With direction from the Director, Marketing and Communications, support various committee initiatives.
• Plan and create monthly ads for ASCRS flagship journal, Diseases of the Colon and Rectum (DCR).
• Review, update and maintain the ASCRS website and the Annual Meeting event registration website and mobile app.
• Willingness and ability to exercise leadership skills related to assigned work.
• Oversee production, creative, logistics and submission process for all printed signage related to the ASCRS Annual Meeting.

What Qualifications are Needed?

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience and at least 3 years of video, audio and graphic design work.
• Experience working remotely (we are a 100% virtual Society), within a small team environment wearing multiple hats. You are flexible and understand the need to be nimble in a small organization.
• Strong collaboration skills across all levels. You possess leadership qualities including empathy and accountability, forming strong relationships with colleagues, members and external stakeholders.
• A digital citizen with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Strong familiarity with social media, especially YouTube and Vimeo. Web conferencing tools, project management software, Adobe Suite, Libsyn and web editing. Creative and innovative with the ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines. You have a proactive and positive approach to process improvement and learn on the fly.
• Ability to travel up to 20 days a year to ASCRS meetings.
