Role Description This is a full-time, remote Journalist (Unpaid) role responsible for producing original news articles, features, and opinion pieces aligned with The Manna Post’s editorial priorities. Day-to-day tasks include researching stories, verifying facts, conducting interviews, and writing clear, engaging content for online publication. Journalists may also draft press releases, collaborate with editors on story angles, and adapt content for different formats, including short-form updates or longer magazine-style pieces. The role involves staying current with relevant news, pitching story ideas, meeting deadlines, and participating in virtual editorial meetings to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
Qualifications
- Strong writing and news writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and engaging journalistic content.
- Experience or familiarity with press releases and broadcasting, including sharing stories across digital or audio/video formats.
- Solid research abilities, including fact-checking, source evaluation, and synthesizing information from multiple perspectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and adherence to ethical journalism standards.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and meet editorial deadlines.
- Comfort conducting interviews, developing story ideas, and collaborating with an editorial team.
- Basic digital literacy, including use of online publishing tools, communication platforms, and standard office software.
- Relevant academic background or experience in journalism, communications, media studies, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
