The ideal candidate has history of designing automated solutions through Solidworks, AutoCad, and other designing methods, along with a proven track record of leading a strong team of engineers, providing guidance and supervision, and ultimately delivering results. Position Summary:
The Solutions Project Engineering Manager leads the technical design and delivery of customer solutions from concept through go-live, serving as the bridge between solution concept design, engineering execution, and project management. This role is responsible for translating business and operational requirements into scalable, high-performance technical solutions. This position requires strong collaboration between cross-functional engineering resources, coordinates closely with product, software, controls, operations, and client stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. The Solutions Project Engineering Manager establishes technical standards, oversees solution architecture and documentation, mitigates delivery risks, and continuously improves execution processes to support rapid growth and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate brings strong systems thinking, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to lead complex solution designs in fast-paced environments. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can balance strategic planning with tactical execution while maintaining a relentless focus on customer outcomes, scalability, and operational excellence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of mechanical engineers and collaborate with Controls Engineers to design new automated solutions
- Collaborate with design teams to create mechanical designs and specifications for products, processes, or systems
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Review and approve engineering calculations, designs, and documentation while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and advancements and incorporate them into company strategy
- Provide technical guidance and support to other departments as needed
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to team members
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to discuss project progress, gather requirements, and address concerns
- This job may require up to 25% travel
Qualifications and Essential Required Skills:
- Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration
- Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering and management
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in 3D design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Pro/Engineer
- Ability to think critically and solve complex problems
- Demonstrated ability to manage and meet project timelines and budgets
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 40+ pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including throughout full work shifts.
- Ability to follow safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality, including flexibility to work extended hours, overtime, or varying shifts when required.
