We're supporting our client, Denea Group Inc., in their search for a Mechanical/Plant Layout Designer (Intermediate) to join their growing team!

Location: Remote, United States

About Denea Group

Denea is an engineering company serving the food manufacturing sector. We provide project engineering and management services to leading multinational food companies, with a focus on delivering practical, high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

The company builds on more than 50 years of combined experience in engineering and construction. Denea was formed following the founders’ success in building a similar business over 20 years ago, which was later acquired by a larger publicly traded corporation.

Denea’s foundation is built on deep industry experience, strong client relationships, and the values that have guided our team from the beginning: quality, integrity, commitment, and efficiency.

Our team is actively recruiting associates who share our values of integrity, loyalty, and trust. Our dynamic approach to project engineering provides excellent opportunities for enthusiastic professionals who want to contribute to meaningful projects and be part of Denea’s continued growth.

About the Role

The Intermediate Mechanical/Plant Layout Designer will be responsible for preparing clear, complete, detailed, and accurate drawing packages from concept stage through to Issued for Construction (IFC). The role will lead assigned project design work and contribute to the implementation of standards and best practices that support drawing quality and consistency.

A strong understanding of plant layout, mechanical and piping design and drafting techniques, and engineering terminology is required. The successful candidate will have a strong drafting background and experience working with 2D and 3D design tools to develop practical, coordinated project drawings and models.

The role works closely with Project Engineers, designers, vendors, contractors, and clients throughout the design process, including drawing development, design reviews, equipment coordination, site verification, and preparation of project documentation.

This is a remote role for candidates based in the United States. Denea’s headquarters are located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and the successful candidate will work remotely while collaborating with the broader team to support client and project needs. Site visits and field verification will be required as needed to support project requirements.

Experience in the food industry is considered a definite asset.
