3D Artist – Contract

Join a dynamic project as a 3D artist, where you will be responsible for creating stylized, game-ready characters for an independent game studio. You will work from concept art and real-world references to model, texture, and rig characters that fit the creative vision of the project. This remote role offers flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to collaborate closely with a small, passionate team. Your expertise will help bring unique characters to life, ensuring they are optimized for real-time performance and ready for animation. Responsibilities

• Model stylized 3D characters based on provided concept art and reference images
• Texture characters using industry-standard tools to achieve a polished, game-ready look
• Optimize models for real-time performance, including efficient triangle count and UV mapping
• Fully rig both body and facial features for animation
• Create a selection of animation poses to demonstrate character movement
• Collaborate with the team to ensure characters meet project requirements and artistic direction
• Adapt workflow and deliverables based on project feedback and evolving needs

Skills And Requirements

• Proven experience in 3D character modeling, texturing, and rigging for games
• Proficiency with Blender, Substance Painter, and ZBrush
• Strong understanding of stylized character design and anatomy
• Experience optimizing models for real-time engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal)
• Ability to create clean, efficient UV layouts and manage texture maps
• Skilled in both body and facial rigging for animation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow artistic direction
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Availability to discuss and adapt project timelines as needed
