As Urban Play continues to grow within NSW and ACT, we are seeking an experienced and well-connected Play Consultant to help build relationships, generate opportunities, and grow our presence within the market.

About the Opportunity

This is a hands-on client-facing role suited to someone with strong existing relationships within landscape architecture firms, councils, schools, or contractors who can confidently manage opportunities from early engagement through to order.

The role combines business development, concept design, client management, site and project scoping, with a strong focus on specification and relationship building within the landscape architecture and open space sector.

We are specifically looking for someone who can hit the ground running and leverage existing industry relationships to generate opportunities across the NSW market.

About the Role

The Play Consultant is responsible for developing and managing client relationships, generating new opportunities, preparing concept designs and proposals, responding to tenders and progressing projects through to conversion.

The role is heavily relationship and specification focused, with regular site visits, client meetings, and engagement with landscape architects, councils, schools, and contractors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain relationships with landscape architects, councils, schools, and contractors
• Identify and progress new project opportunities across NSW and ACT
• Undertake site visits, project scoping, and client meetings
• Prepare concept layouts and preliminary playground designs
• Develop proposals, quotations, and tender submissions
• Manage project pricing and supplier coordination
• Follow up opportunities and maintain a strong sales pipeline
• Maintain accurate CRM records and forecasting information
• Collaborate with internal design and project teams to support successful project delivery
• Represent Urban Play professionally within the local market and industry

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, proactive, and comfortable managing opportunities independently.

You will ideally have:

• Existing relationships within landscape architecture firms, councils, schools, or contractors
• Experience within playgrounds, landscape architecture, urban design, construction, or a related industry
• Strong business development and relationship management skills
• Experience managing opportunities from early engagement through to order
• Confidence undertaking site meetings and project scoping
• Ability to prepare concept designs and layouts using AutoCAD or similar software
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work autonomously and manage your own territory
• Willingness to travel regionally throughout NSW and ACT
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• A suitable home office / remote working setup

Landscape Architecture qualifications are highly regarded but not essential.

Urban Play is a fast-moving, design-led team where Play Consultants take real ownership of their regions, building relationships, shaping projects, and creating great play outcomes from the ground up.

Consultants are responsible for developing their own concepts and layouts in response to client briefs, while our internal graphic design team supports by refining and packaging presentation material for clients.

The role requires a high level of autonomy, accountability, and initiative, while still working closely with the broader team across project delivery and supplier coordination.
