About The Role We are seeking a dedicated Product Designer II with a strong passion for creating accessible user experiences. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Design Systems team to advance Pinterest’s vision for accessibility. Your expertise will help develop and uphold accessibility standards, ensuring our products are inclusive and user-friendly for all. You will play a vital role in maintaining our design systems, contributing to accessibility documentation, and championing an "accessibility-first" mindset across the organization. Your work will directly impact millions of users by making Pinterest a more inclusive platform that empowers everyone to bring their ideas to life. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in an accessibility-focused role
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG guidelines and accessibility standards for web and mobile platforms
  • Hands-on experience with assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack
  • Proven ability to lead training sessions or workshops on accessibility best practices
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams to implement accessible features
  • Expertise in auditing and working with design systems for accessibility compliance
  • Deep understanding of mobile and web accessibility requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of inclusive design principles

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accessibility guides within the design system to ensure consistency across components
  • Create and update internal accessibility standards, documentation, and best practices
  • Ensure new and existing components meet internal accessibility standards through rigorous testing and annotations
  • Conduct manual accessibility testing using screen readers and keyboard navigation to verify quality
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure proper implementation and quality assurance of core components
  • Advocate for an accessibility-first approach across product teams, fostering a culture of empathy and inclusion
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on accessibility, providing guidance and support throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Stay informed about emerging accessibility technologies and best practices, continuously enhancing expertise
