About The Role We are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join our team on a contract or freelance basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing the user interface for an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) software application intended for use on smart glasses. This role involves creating visually engaging, user-friendly, and highly functional interfaces that facilitate seamless interaction in real-world military scenarios. You will work closely with our software development team to translate complex requirements into intuitive visual designs, ensuring the interface is optimized for hands-free, heads-up display environments. Your designs will directly impact the usability and effectiveness of AR applications used in critical operational settings, making this an exciting opportunity to contribute to mission-critical technology. Qualifications

• Proven experience designing UI/UX for AR/VR, wearables, or mobile platforms (portfolio required)
• Strong understanding of spatial interface design and user-centered principles
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar
• Ability to design for environments with limited hand interaction and high information density
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of usability, legibility, and cognitive load considerations in heads-up displays

Responsibilities

• Design user-friendly, visually clear UI components for AR smart glasses
• Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to visualize design concepts
• Focus on optimizing usability, readability, and minimizing cognitive load in heads-up displays
• Collaborate closely with software developers to ensure the feasibility and accuracy of designs
• Iterate on designs based on user feedback from internal testing and field deployments
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of the user interface
