About The Role We are actively seeking a skilled UX/UI Designer to join our team supporting an ongoing Federal program. This remote position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team dedicated to improving user experiences through innovative design and research. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting user research, translating findings into actionable design tasks, and developing intuitive interfaces from concept to high-fidelity prototypes. The role requires close collaboration with diverse stakeholders—including UX Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Product Managers—to ensure that user needs and business objectives are seamlessly integrated into the final product. The UX/UI Designer will also support the development and maintenance of design systems, style guides, and ensure compliance with web standards, accessibility, and usability best practices. This position offers a flexible work environment with future options for onsite work in Tysons, VA, or continued remote engagement across the United States. Travel requirements are up to 10%, and the role necessitates the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance. Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant UX/UI design experience
- Portfolio demonstrating research and UX/UI design skills
- Proficiency in design software such as Sketch, InVision, Adobe Design Suite, or equivalent
- Knowledge of human-computer interaction and usability design principles
- Experience with user research techniques and data collection methods
- Understanding of responsive web design to address cross-browser and cross-device issues
- Ability to follow and implement design systems and style guides
- Familiarity with HTML5 and CSS3 for effective design handoff
- Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust clearance; candidates with active clearances are preferred
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct user research in alignment with the design thinking process to gather insights and inform design decisions
- Translate research findings, user feedback, and business requirements into actionable design tasks and specifications
- Develop features from initial ideation to high-fidelity interactive prototypes, ensuring an intuitive user experience
- Collaborate effectively with project stakeholders, including UX designers, researchers, engineers, product owners, and business analysts, throughout the design lifecycle
- Organize and maintain design files and assets for seamless handoff to development teams using tools such as Zeplin
- Support the development and refinement of design systems and style guides through team collaboration
- Maintain consistency in user interface and design patterns based on established style guides and standards
- Ensure all implementations adhere to web standards, accessibility guidelines, and usability best practices
- Participate in iterative testing and refinement of designs based on user feedback and testing results
- Stay updated with emerging design trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve the user experience
