Founding Engineer (AI-First B2B SaaS – German Real Estate)

Stage: Early (no external investors yet)

Compensation: Competitive salary + meaningful ownership

The idea is to create an AI-first infrastructure layer for the German real estate industry.

The real estate market in Germany is massive, fragmented, document-heavy, and still largely manual. Our product helps professional real estate stakeholders (B2B) streamline workflows, extract structured intelligence from unstructured data, and make faster decisions — with a small B2C component.

This is not “AI as a feature.”

This is AI-native system design from day one.

You’ll design and build the technical foundation from scratch.

As the Founding Engineer, you will:

• Architect and build the system from 0 → 1
• Design an AI-first backend (LLMs, embeddings, pipelines, retrieval, evaluation)
• Make key decisions on infrastructure, data modeling, and scalability
• Ship the MVP and evolve it into production-grade architecture
• Work directly with founders daily (product + strategy)
• Help shape engineering culture and long-term technical direction

You won’t inherit legacy code.

You won’t be ticket-driven.

You’ll build the system the right way from the start.

What You Bring:

Strong Software Architecture Experience

• Designed and shipped production systems
• Deep backend expertise (Python / Node / Go or similar)
• Comfortable making high-level architectural trade-offs

AI-Native Thinking

• Experience building with LLMs (RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning, evaluation loops)
• Strong understanding of data pipelines
• Pragmatic about cost, latency, and model selection
• Able to design AI as infrastructure, not a bolt-on feature

Startup Builder Mentality

• Comfortable with ambiguity
• Bias toward shipping
• Pragmatic over perfection
• Clear, structured communicator

Bonus (Not Required)

• Experience in B2B SaaS
• Experience in PropTech / FinTech
• Experience selling into conservative industries

You don’t need to know the German real estate domain yet — but you must be excited to deeply learn it.
