We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented InDesign Production Designer to join our client’s team. This critical role involves converting existing content from PowerPoint into InDesign for 13 guidebooks, each approximately 20 pages long. The successful Talent will leverage an established InDesign template, focusing on precise layout, typography, and graphic placement to maintain brand consistency and high-quality output. This position is integral to ensuring that our client’s valuable content is professionally presented in a versatile and editable format, supporting their ongoing communication and documentation needs. 10-15 hours per week. Approx. 3 month project

  • Must possess own laptop and Adobe InDesign software license.

Responsibilities

  • Convert 13 existing guidebooks from PowerPoint files into Adobe InDesign.
  • Adhere strictly to an established InDesign template, including paragraph styles, character styles, and overall layout.
  • Manage the layout and pagination of approximately 20 pages per guidebook.
  • Ensure accurate placement of text, images, charts, and other visual elements as provided in the source files.
  • Maintain brand consistency and design integrity across all converted documents.
  • Utilize Basecamp for project management, file sharing, and communication with the team.
  • Communicate proactively with the team regarding project progress, challenges, and timelines.
  • Be available for initial project requirement discussions during general business hours, with flexibility for subsequent work to be completed off-hours.

Qualifications

  • Mid to senior-level experience (5+ years) as a Production Designer or similar role.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe InDesign, with a strong portfolio demonstrating production design skills.
  • Proven experience in converting documents from other formats (e.g., PowerPoint, Word) into InDesign.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of content with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, and print production best practices (though no direct printer interaction).
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for minor asset adjustments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, specifically Basecamp, is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide daily responsiveness in a remote work environment.
  • Must possess own equipment and Adobe InDesign software license.
