Typographer / Designer

Our client is seeking a Typographer/Designer to create, develop, and package a bespoke font typeface for a large, international law firm. The firm’s polished, highly professional brand is built on credibility, precision, and trust, blending tradition with a modern, global presence. The visual identity is clean, sophisticated, and consistent, with a tone that is authoritative yet accessible. The custom sans serif typeface will be inspired by current use of fonts similar to Avenir and Mulish and must support the firm’s multilingual communications in English, German, and Brazilian Portuguese. The number of font weights will be negotiable, though the current brand uses approximately five. You Will:

• Design and develop a custom sans serif font typeface based on brand inspiration from Avenir and Mulish
• Create a complete character set, including special characters to support English, German, and Brazilian Portuguese
• Collaborate with brand and marketing stakeholders to ensure alignment with the firm’s sophisticated, international identity
• Determine and produce the appropriate number of font weights, targeting approximately five
• Package the typeface for multiple platforms and uses, ensuring compatibility across print, digital, events, and thought leadership materials

You Have:

• Proven experience designing and packaging custom typefaces for high-profile brands
• Strong portfolio demonstrating typographic creativity with disciplined visual execution
• Expertise in font design tools and software such as Glyphs, FontLab, or similar
• Understanding of multilingual character sets and font engineering best practices
• Ability to balance creativity with precision, delivering work that reinforces brand trust and authority

Logistics:

• Start Date/Duration: Starting ASAP and continuing until the project is delivered in Q4 2025.
• Onsite/Offsite: Remote working roughly ET or CT hours (*Must be based in the US)
• Laptop/Software Requirements: Working on your own Laptop & Software
• Background Check: Yes
• Salary/Rate: Project will be quoted after meeting with the client
