This is a full-time, in-house role.
Please note: We’re not considering freelance designers, contract workers, or applicants who run their own product/design business. We’re looking for dedicated team members ready to grow with us, not alongside us.
Mission
As a Senior Product Designer at BigMouth Inc., you’ll lead the creation of cheeky, trend-driven products—from giant floats to novelty mugs and licensed collaborations—that spark joy and captivate customers. Enjoy the flexibility of fully remote work while driving innovative, emotionally engaging designs from concept to market launch.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Concept Development
- Create trend-driven product concepts per season for novelty and licensed categories, leveraging themes across multiple channels.
Product Execution
- Lead end-to-end development, delivering tech packs with precise specs, dielines, materials, and construction details.
Sample Review
- Oversee prototyping and sample reviews, identifying issues to meet specs, safety, compliance, cost, and margin targets.
Collaboration
- Partner with Packaging, Marketing, and overseas vendors to deliver projects on time.
Trend & Research
- Stay ahead of trends via tradeshows, competitive analysis, and social media to inform innovative designs.
Cost & Compliance
- Collaborate with Product Manager and Operations to meet cost/margin goals.
- Ensure designs comply with safety and testing standards.
Vendor Management
- Manage overseas factory communications, timelines, costs, and quality reviews.
Workflow
- Work remotely using Teams, Trello, and cloud platforms (e.g., Drive/SharePoint).
Travel
- Occasional domestic/international travel for vendor visits or tradeshows.
Skills and Qualifications
- 8–12 years of experience in product design (novelty, toys, seasonal, consumer goods preferred).
- Expert in illustration, character development, typography, and layout.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Proven ability to create tech packs and manage licensed product approvals.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (plastics, inflatables, ceramics, textiles).
- Strong leadership to mentor teams and drive solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management for remote work.
- Familiarity with AI design tools (e.g., Midjourney, DALL·E) preferred.
- Positive attitude, receptive to feedback, and adept at multitasking under deadlines.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience (10+ years).
Bonus
- Experience with 3D printing for prototyping and 3D tools (e.g., Blender, Adobe Dimension).
- Comfort with shared file environments (e.g., Figma, SharePoint, Drive).

Salary Range/Benefits:
- $70-100,000/yr (salary base range)
