We are a boutique strategic communications agency working with cultural institutions, science and engineering organizations, academic institutions, healthcare providers, and hospitality/tourism clients. We are launching an exciting brand evolution in January 2026 and seek an experienced social media professional to build and strengthen our digital presence.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a proactive and experienced Social Media Specialist to expand our company's digital presence and increase awareness of our agency and its clients. This is an ongoing, core team role with significant growth potential. You will be a vital part of our agency team, working alongside top talent in other areas and directly with the company founder. This role provides an opportunity for creativity and innovation, offering the chance to shape our digital footprint during and beyond an exciting period of transformation.

Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Footprint Expansion

- Build and grow the company's digital presence across key platforms

- Create platform-specific content strategies aligned with business development goals

- Manage LinkedIn (primary), Facebook, and Instagram accounts

- Identify and recommend new platforms and digital opportunities

- Keep up with evolving social media trends and technologies

Thought Leadership Development

- Position the company, clients, and its founder as recognized thought leaders in strategic communications and related fields.

- Create compelling content that showcases the agency’s expertise and insights.

- Develop content across various target industries, demonstrating deep cross-sector knowledge.

- Engage strategically in industry conversations and professional networks.

- Amplify the founder's voice and distinctive positioning in the field.

Content Creation & Design

- Create and schedule engaging content (3-5 times weekly on LinkedIn)

- Design graphics, animations, and videos for social platforms

- Share relevant client success stories and case studies

- Develop launch content and promotional materials for January's soft launch

- Maintain a consistent visual brand identity across all platforms

Strategic Leadership & Reporting

- Meet with the company founder and colleagues to develop strategic direction, content, and tactics

- Proactively advance approaches to grow the digital presence

- Contribute fresh ideas and best practices to the development of the final agency website

- Measure and report on engagement metrics and lead generation

- Recommend platform and content changes based on performance data

- Coordinate social media messaging with business development efforts

Team Collaboration

- Serve as a core member of the agency team

- Collaborate on prospect outreach alignment

- Work with the design partner to ensure visual brand consistency

- Contribute to overall agency strategy and growth initiatives

What We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsEXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE:

- Not entry-level; social media management experience required.

- Proven track record with measurable results in business-to-business or professional services.

- Experience building a social media presence from scratch is preferred.

- Portfolio of previous work demonstrating a strategic approach.

STRATEGIC & CREATIVE SKILLS:

- Proactive self-starter who generates ideas rather than waiting for instructions

- Strong strategic thinker who understands how social media supports business goals

- Excellent writer capable of creating compelling copy that reflects brand voice

- Graphic design skills required (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)

- Video creation and editing skills for social media content

- Animation skills for engaging digital content

- Knowledge of lead generation through digital channels

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:

- LinkedIn expertise essential - deep understanding of professional platform best practices

- Proficiency with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar)

- Experience with native platform analytics and reporting

- Ability to track ROI and business impact

- Microsoft Office proficiency for reporting and analysis

PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES:

- Excellent judgment in maintaining professional tone and brand positioning

- Tech-savvy with knowledge of current and emerging platforms

- Able to work independently with weekly check-ins
