THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION The Graphic Designer sits on the Marketing and Communications team at Crisis Text Line and reports directly to the Creative Director. The ideal candidate will serve a critical role in elevating our brand and visual storytelling. They are a self-starter, ready to take the initiative on projects. This position requires strong design skills as well as the ability to manage a workload across multiple channels and maintain a high-quality output. They also have a good understanding of the iterative creative process, are able to take on art direction and interpret it in new ways, helping to continuously move our brand forward. At its core, this role will help in building a strategy that leverages design best practices to de-escalate crises, reach people in pain with our service, and introduce Crisis Text Line to new communities. Responsibilities
- Own the role of designer in creating graphic concepts, assets, and visual treatments for various digital/print channels, with a keen knowledge of social media design & best practices
- Contribute to brainstorming new design ideas and concepts for emerging projects
- Help to develop, maintain, and evolve brand design standards and systems
- Assist in the maintenance and optimization of Crisis Text Line’s website
- Elevate brand aesthetics while supporting overall brand direction
- Conceptualize and execute on new ways to bring Crisis Text Line’s crisis de-escalation tools to the public
- Handle multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
- Receive constructive feedback during the creative ideation process and provide proactive design solutions
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience
- A strong, dynamic portfolio that showcases the full range of your experience and aesthetic
- Adept in Creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign), and Canva
- Experience with Figma, and other UX/wireframing/prototyping tools
- Basic knowledge of WordPress design and editing tools
- Intermediate knowledge of typography, layout, color theory, and design systems
- Experience with responsive configuration principles for web and mobile
Reliable High-Speed Internet Required: Must have a stable high-speed internet connection to support seamless remote collaboration, virtual meetings, online job tasks, etc. The full salary range for this position, across all United States geographies, is $54,516to $61,000per year. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience; during the interview process, candidates will learn the starting salary range applicable for their location. We pay competitively in the tech-forward nonprofit space and offer a robust benefits package.
