Storefront Designers manage the Digital Collegium Apparel and Accessories storefront. They work to ensure a streamlined customer experience that offers a variety of inclusive merchandise. They also collaborate to market the storefront and support event collections. Responsibilities
- Manage the storefront, including product organization, website design, and promotion.
- Strive for a variety of merchandise. Ensure the offerings are inclusive and avoid gender-based product labels and organization.
- Develop original merchandise that promotes the Association’s brand and appeals to the membership at large.
- Beta test new merchandise designs to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Support event committees posting merchandise to the storefront, including reviewing designs, cross training volunteers and organizing/publishing design collections.
- Establish and implement a marketing plan, which includes promoting special deals.
- Attend all committee meetings and provide insight into how best the committee can collaborate to promote opportunities and initiatives for the Association.
- Coordinate with the operations director on any financial and vendor-related issues.
- Facilitate an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Qualifications Required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of organizational branding and how best to communicate ideas and initiatives.
- Ability to think creatively and deliver impressive concepts that align with Association branding guidelines.
- Membership in the association, which can be fulfilled at application. (Free general membership for higher education professionals would meet this requirement.)
- Familiarity with the Association.
- Ability to adhere to deadlines.
Preferred
- A fluent knowledge of current design tools and software.
- Proficiency with Threadless Artist Shops (or similar storefronts).
- Work experience in a marketing, communications, or public relations environment.
- Ability to produce and organize website content.
- Ability to work with project management/team communication platforms such as Slack, Clickup, etc.
- Google Drive proficiency.
Estimated time commitment
- Members are expected to virtually attend monthly scheduled Marketing and Communications Committee meetings.
- The time commitment for committee work varies, with a minimum of 1-2 hours per month.
Length of appointment
- One to two years, with option to renew for additional terms
