Product Owner

Role Description

A Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and managing the product backlog to ensure that development teams deliver value to the business and end-users. This role acts as the liaison between stakeholders and the development team, translating business needs into actionable product features.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining the product vision and strategy in collaboration with stakeholders
• Creating, prioritizing, and maintaining the product backlog
• Translating business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria
• Collaborating with development teams to ensure features are built according to specifications
• Making decisions on feature trade-offs, scope, and priorities
• Gathering feedback from users, stakeholders, and analytics to guide product improvements
• Participating in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Monitoring product performance and reporting progress to stakeholders
• Ensuring the product meets customer needs, quality standards, and business objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in product management, business analysis, or agile development environments
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and product lifecycle
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear user stories
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to make data-driven decisions
• Experience with product management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Aha!
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and marketing
