As the Marketing Representative for the UK, you will be the local voice and hands-on executor of happn’s brand presence in the UK market.
We are looking for a strong Social Media profile who can launch, manage and grow happn’s local Instagram presence from scratch — combining trend-driven content, UK dating culture insights, community management, local market knowledge and sharp situational marketing.
This role is ideal for someone who is both creative and operational: able to build a content strategy, write culturally relevant English copy, brief designers, identify local opportunities, represent the brand at events and help translate the global happn vision into something truly relevant for the UK audience.
Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Strategy & Growth
- Lead the launch and day-to-day management of the official happn UK Instagram account.
- Build and execute a local social media strategy focused on growth, engagement and brand relevance.
- Develop a strong mix of content formats: trend-driven posts, dating culture insights, memes, educational formats, community-led content, UGC-inspired ideas and local brand storytelling.
- Create engaging concepts and write sharp English copy adapted to the UK audience, dating culture and social media tone.
- Identify relevant UK trends, cultural moments, holidays, events and social conversations that happn can react to through situational marketing.
- Brief the internal Graphic Design team clearly and efficiently to produce final visual assets.
- Track social media performance, identify what works and continuously optimize content based on results.
- Bring proven experience in growing social media accounts from scratch or at an early stage.
UK Market & Cultural Relevance
- Act as the local cultural expert for the UK market.
- Stay on top of UK pop culture, dating trends, social media conversations, local events, seasonal moments and key national dates.
- Help happn build a content calendar around relevant UK moments, from dating-related occasions to cultural events, holidays and real-time trends.
- Ensure all content feels native to the UK market, not translated or adapted from another country.
- Collect and share relevant user feedback, cultural insights and market intelligence with the Product and Marketing teams.
Community & Brand Presence
- Act as the primary voice of happn UK on Instagram.
- Manage community interactions, respond to inquiries and moderate discussions to maintain a safe, positive and engaging environment.
- Represent the brand locally when needed: attend events, support offline activations and help happn build visibility in the UK market.
- Support local PR, brand and partnership moments by identifying opportunities where happn can participate in the conversation.
Localization & Brand Support
- Support the localization of app communication, marketing materials and brand messages for the UK audience.
- Help adapt global campaigns into locally relevant UK content.
- Work closely with the central marketing team to ensure all local initiatives remain aligned with happn’s global brand strategy.
- Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen happn’s local relevance and brand perception in the UK.
Partnerships & Influencer Support
- Support selected local partnerships, brand activations or influencer initiatives when relevant.
- Help brief creators, partners or agencies when needed, ensuring all deliverables remain aligned with happn’s global brand standards.
- Influencer marketing experience is a plus, but this role is primarily focused on Social Media, content and local brand growth.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Social Media, Content Marketing, Brand Marketing or Community Management.
- Proven track record of growing social media accounts from scratch or significantly scaling existing accounts.
- Strong portfolio of executed social media cases, campaigns or content formats with measurable results.
- Excellent understanding of Instagram, social trends, content formats, community behavior and platform mechanics.
- Strong knowledge of the UK market, culture, media landscape, dating scene and social media tone.
- Ability to identify and activate local trends, cultural moments, holidays and events through situational marketing.
- Native-level or fully fluent English with excellent copywriting skills.
- Must be based in the UK, ideally London.
- Strong ability to brief designers and translate content ideas into clear, actionable creative directions.
- Comfortable being a local market representative: joining events, supporting activations and acting as the cultural voice of the UK market.
- Previous experience in dating, lifestyle, entertainment, consumer apps or tech is a strong plus.

- We are looking for someone who understands social media not just as a posting channel, but as a growth and brand-building tool.
- You should know what people in the UK are talking about, what feels culturally relevant, what makes dating content relatable, and how to turn local insights into content people actually want to follow, share and comment on.
- The ideal candidate is creative, proactive, hands-on and deeply connected to the UK social media landscape. You should be able to spot trends quickly, react to cultural moments, write with a native UK tone and build a local brand presence from the ground up.
