Senior QA Engineer
Job Description
Posted on: July 7, 2026
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior QA Engineer based in Australia. This role is a key quality ownership position embedded directly within a fast-paced, product-driven engineering environment where QA is treated as a strategic function rather than a gatekeeping step. You will be responsible for ensuring every release meets high standards of performance, reliability, and user experience across web, mobile, and API-driven systems. The position blends hands-on manual testing with advanced automation work, requiring strong technical depth and a product mindset. You will be involved across the full development lifecycle, from requirement review and test planning through to release validation and continuous improvement. The environment is highly collaborative, encouraging QA engineers to challenge assumptions, influence product decisions, and improve engineering quality practices. This is an opportunity to directly shape how products are delivered, tested, and scaled in a modern engineering organization. Accountabilities
- Own end-to-end quality assurance across web, mobile (Android/iOS), and API platforms, ensuring all releases meet functional, performance, and reliability standards before deployment.
- Design, write, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports aligned with product requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API systems using modern testing frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, and Appium.
- Conduct manual testing including functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and performance testing to validate real-world user scenarios.
- Identify, log, track, and analyze defects using debugging tools and collaborate closely with engineers to ensure timely resolution.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and test automation coverage by integrating tests into build and deployment workflows using tools such as Jenkins and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Participate actively in requirement reviews, design discussions, and sprint ceremonies, ensuring features are testable, clear, and aligned with quality standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in QA engineering with strong exposure to both manual and automation testing in web and mobile environments.
- Strong programming experience in Python and solid understanding of test automation frameworks and practices.
- Hands-on experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman and validating backend services and integrations.
- Experience with web and mobile automation tools including Selenium, Playwright, and Appium.
- Solid understanding of testing methodologies including regression, integration, end-to-end, performance, and API testing.
- Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, with additional exposure to MongoDB considered a plus.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes is highly advantageous.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation with performance-based bonuses
- Remote-first setup with flexible working arrangements
- Paid annual leave and additional time-off benefits
- High-quality equipment provided to support remote productivity
- Quarterly recognition and referral bonus programs
- Annual company retreats and team engagement opportunities
- Strong focus on learning, mentorship, and career development in QA and automation
