This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer - RHEL Client Tools in EMEA. As a Software Engineer focusing on RHEL Client Tools, you will contribute to building and maintaining customer-facing software that connects enterprise Linux systems to hybrid cloud environments. You'll work with a global team of engineers and quality specialists to develop new features, fix defects, and ensure seamless integration across multiple platforms. This role offers an opportunity to deepen your expertise in Python, Go, and Linux, while participating in cross-functional projects that enhance both automation and user experience. You'll collaborate closely with peers on design, testing, and implementation, gaining exposure to open-source ecosystems and modern cloud technologies in a fully remote, international environment. Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain client tools in Python and Go to support enterprise Linux systems
  • Implement integrations between RHEL stacks and hybrid cloud services, improving functionality and reliability
  • Contribute to unit and integration testing, working with quality engineers to ensure high product standards
  • Participate in design sessions with product management and engineering teams to scope, prioritize, and prototype new features
  • Stay current with new technologies and methodologies, presenting innovative solutions to team members
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams to deliver robust, maintainable, and high-quality software products
  • Document work, share knowledge, and contribute to open-source projects and internal best practices

Requirements

  • Experience in Linux environments with proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or Go
  • Strong understanding of Linux system architecture, services, configuration, and logging
  • Solid experience with Git, including feature/release branches, rebasing, and using GitHub or GitLab
  • Detail-oriented, with strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, agile development environments, following clean code principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed, cross-functional team
