Malaberg is a scale-up transforming lives with premium health, nutrition, and skincare brands, built entirely in-house as we scale across the UK and US markets.
We’re hiring a Direct Mail Manager to own a high-potential channel from the ground up inside our Retention team.
This is an individual contributor role — hands-on, commercial, and execution-focused.
Partnering with our in-house specialists in copy, creative, and media buying, you will get the right audiences, coordinate physical sends, report the ROAS, and scale what works. Early in-house tests are already highly profitable, and you will start immediately on our launching brands to turn these wins into a repeatable operating machine. This role covers both the UK and US markets, with a primary focus on US acquisition.
What You Will Do
- Plan and run direct mail sends for lapsed customers, active customers, subscribers, VIPs, cross-sell audiences, and selected cold-audience tests.
- Build or brief the audience lists in Klaviyo and Shopify, with strong suppression, address QA, and data discipline.
- Coordinate print and mailing-house delivery: specs, proofs, timelines, mail dates, in-home windows, and issue resolution.
- Brief Copy and Creative on the commercial job of each piece: audience, offer, format, response mechanic, and success metric.
- Report send-level ROAS, cost, result, learning, and recommendation: scale, repeat, rework, or stop.
- Turn the first winning sends into a repeatable weekly or fortnightly direct mail operating rhythm.
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on direct mail experience. This is essential.
- Commercial judgement. You can talk about ROAS, cost per pack, response, contribution, and when to scale or kill a send.
- Operational grip. You are comfortable managing vendors, proofs, deadlines, files, and moving parts without dropping detail.
- Data confidence. You can brief lists clearly and are willing to get hands-on with Klaviyo, Shopify, and customer data workflows.
- A future-facing mindset. We do not want someone tech-phobic. We want someone who learns tools quickly and improves the operating system.
- Good creative judgement without needing to be the copywriter or designer. You can bring strong ideas and brief specialists well.
Bonus Points If You Have
- UK and US direct mail experience.
- Cold-audience or list-buying experience.
- A DTC, subscription, beauty, supplements, skincare, catalogue, charity fundraising, or direct-response agency background.
- Experience with parcel inserts or package inserts.
